The main difference between the Porsche 997.1 and 997.2 is associated with engines and transmissions. The Gen II 997 benefitted from Porsche’s direct fuel injection technology for an improved throttle response and better MPG along with an increase in power to 385BHP.
The Gen II also offered Porsche’s PDK dual-clutch transmission for the first time, allowing the gear to be changed in milliseconds, without any interruption in the flow of power. This results in significantly faster acceleration with a 0 to 62MPH time of just 4.3 with the optional SportChrono.
The Gen II C4S has daytime running lights up front and reshaped LED tail lights at the rear, it also carries an added reflector strip on the rear. The most notable change however is seen in the extra 44mm of width in the rear wheel arches.
